Amit Shah is scheduled to reach Tamil Nadu on Saturday night as the Bharatiya Janata Party ramps up its campaign in the final days before the Assembly elections.
Party insiders said Shah will arrive in Coimbatore. He will stay there overnight. The Minister will begin a packed campaign schedule on Sunday, focusing on direct voter engagement in crucial constituencies.
Shah’s first programme is expected in the Modakurichi segment of Erode district, where he will hold a roadshow backing BJP candidate Kirthika Shivkumar.
The region is seen as electorally significant, with the party concentrating efforts on strengthening its base in western Tamil Nadu.
Later, Shah is set to travel to Chennai to participate in another roadshow in support of BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan.
During his visit to the city, he is also likely to visit the Kapaleeshwarar Temple.
Senior party leaders said these events aim to boost cadre enthusiasm. They added that the events will reinforce outreach at the grassroots level as campaigning nears its end.
The visit forms part of a wider strategy by the National Democratic Alliance to deploy top leadership across the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign in Tamil Nadu earlier on Saturday.
With polling scheduled soon, the BJP is relying on high-visibility appearances and direct public interaction to consolidate support in the closing phase of the election campaign.
