Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra: Amit Shah To Address Concluding Programme In Jalandhar

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the concluding programme of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatras’ in Jalandhar on September 30.

Four yatras launched across Punjab on September 18 will converge in the city to mark the end of the campaign.

The four yatras are collectively covering nearly 4,000 km and reaching all 117 Assembly constituencies as part of the BJP’s statewide campaign against drug abuse.

The party has organised the campaign under the theme ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’, focusing on awareness about drug addiction and calls for action against the problem.

The yatras began from different parts of the state in phases.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin flagged off the first yatra from Madhopur in Pathankot district on September 18, while other phases began from Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka and Talwandi Sabo.

The four campaigns will come together in Jalandhar before Shah addresses the concluding gathering.

Preparations for the rally are underway, with the BJP’s Jalandhar unit coordinating arrangements for the event.

The campaign has further focused on the issue of drug abuse in Punjab and has sought to take the message across urban and rural areas of the state.

BJP leaders have described the initiative as an effort to build wider public participation in the fight against drugs.

The event, however, comes ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, with the BJP using the campaign for public and organisational outreach.

Shah will address the anti-drug campaign’s concluding rally in Jalandhar, bringing together participants from all four yatras.

The September 30 programme will mark the culmination of the 13-day ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’ campaign, which has taken the anti-drug message across all 117 Assembly constituencies.
