Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Jharkhand Assembly elections on Sunday, pledging to defend the state’s “Roti, Maati, Beti” (livelihood, land, and daughters) from infiltrators.
Shah highlighted the BJP’s focus on Jharkhand’s development, accusing the current government of failing to protect tribal communities and hindering progress. “This election isn’t just about changing leadership but securing Jharkhand’s future,” Shah asserted, urging voters to choose between “corruption or a BJP government under PM Modi.”
Addressing youth unemployment and paper leaks, he stated, “Jharkhand’s young people are looking to us for a better future.” Shah assured that the BJP’s manifesto stands out because “the BJP does what it says.”

The manifesto emphasizes protection for Jharkhand’s unique identity, pledging action on corruption and governance reforms. Shah criticized Chief Minister Hemant Soren, claiming he stalled PM Modi’s development initiatives and failed to protect tribal lands, especially in Santhal Pargana, where Shah said, “Infiltrators are occupying land and threatening local culture.”
Citing the rise of Droupadi Murmu, the first tribal woman to become India’s president, as a point of pride, Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to tribal welfare and lambasted Soren’s administration for alleged failures in women’s safety and trafficking cases.
On financial allocations, Shah challenged Soren, contrasting BJP funding from 2014-2024 (Rs 3,80,000 crore) with UPA’s Rs 84,000 crore between 2004-2014. He also pledged a cap on gas prices at Rs 500 for women, an extra free cylinder on Diwali and Raksha Bandhan, and five lakh jobs within five years.
Shah’s address set the stage for further campaigning, with PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expected in Jharkhand in the coming days.
