During the conversation, Naidu briefed Shah on the damage caused by Cyclone Murasu and the impact of the earlier Cyclone Arnab. He highlighted crop losses and damage to property across several districts. The Chief Minister also thanked Shah for sending a central team to assess the damage caused by Arnab and sought adequate assistance to help the state recover from the successive cyclones.
Meanwhile, Naidu thanked Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and the people of Karnataka for extending support to Andhra Pradesh. He said the timely assistance during the crisis would not be forgotten.
Earlier, Shivakumar had announced that Karnataka teams were heading to Andhra Pradesh to support relief and restoration operations. He also spoke to Naidu and assured him of assistance following the damage caused by Cyclone Arnab.
Shivakumar said more than 15,000 electricity poles had been uprooted during Arnab, making power restoration a priority. Karnataka’s Energy Department was coordinating assistance, with Energy Minister K.J. George monitoring the arrangements.
Karnataka is deploying 500 skilled personnel along with equipment to speed up repair work and help restore electricity in the affected areas.
