Amit Shah And JP Nadda To Lead BJP’s Election Push In Bihar As Campaigning Intensifies

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda are set to headline a series of rallies across Bihar on Thursday, as the state readies itself for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Bihar Assembly polls will unfold in two stages, on 6 and 11 November, with the counting of votes scheduled for 14 November.

Following the Election Commission’s announcement, the Model Code of Conduct has officially come into force throughout the state.

The first round of voting will cover 121 constituencies. The second will decide the remaining 122. Together, these phases will set the stage for a fierce contest.

The main battle is likely between the ruling NDA and the opposition Mahagathbandhan bloc.

As part of the BJP’s campaign offensive, Amit Shah will hold a string of public meetings in:

  • Lakhisarai
  • Munger
  • Nalanda
  • Patna

Additionally, JP Nada will address rallies in:

  • Begusarai
  • Nalanda

Both leaders aim to energise party workers and rally voter support ahead of polling day.

Political tensions in the state have been rising steadily.

On Wednesday, Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He accused him of mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and showing irreverence towards ‘Chhathi Maiyya’, a deity deeply revered in Bihar.

In a televised interview, Shah stated, “Rahul Gandhi has not insulted PM Modi but Chhathi Maiyya and her devotees. He will face the consequences of this in the Bihar elections.”

His comments followed Rahul Gandhi’s controversial jibe at a rally. Gandhi had suggested that “PM Modi would dance on stage if it meant getting votes.”

Responding to this, Shah said Gandhi’s remarks were consistent with his ‘habitual lack of respect’ in political discourse.

“Rahul has spoken about PM Modi in a derogatory manner and even insulted his mother. But every time he lowers the standards of politics, the lotus blooms brighter from that mud,” Shah remarked, referring to the BJP’s election symbol.

Meanwhile, the BJP has revealed a 40-member team of star campaigners for the Bihar polls, slated for 6 and 11 November.

The list features key figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, alongside several chief ministers, including Yogi Adityanath, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Mohan Yadav, as well as senior leader Smriti Irani.

Adding a touch of local appeal, Bhojpuri film icons Pawan Singh, Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’, Manoj Tiwari, and Ravi Kishan are also part of the BJP’s star campaign team. The move underscores the party’s bid to tap into Bihar’s strong cultural and emotional connect ahead of the elections.
