Delhi BJP leader Manoj Tiwari drew enthusiastic crowds during a visit to Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated 1,650 flats to slum residents.
The event, held ahead of the civic elections, saw thousands of residents greet Tiwari with cheers, slogans, and applause, expressing their appreciation for the party’s initiatives.
Manoj Tiwari highlighted the significance of the Swabhiman Apartments project, stating, “This society represents a new beginning for families who had long been forced to live in slums. PM Modi’s initiative has provided these households with a dignified standard of living.”
He further emphasised that the developers have equipped the flats with modern amenities, including electricity, water, and gas connections.
Developed under the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the project offers affordable housing, with each unit costing the government ₹25 lakh, while beneficiaries pay only ₹1.42 lakh.
The BJP leader noted the overwhelming public reception, “The love and support I received from the residents here is truly inspiring.”
Many attendees took selfies and recorded videos to commemorate the occasion, reflecting the excitement surrounding the handover of flats.
Tiwari reassured the community that the BJP government remains committed to the welfare of slum residents and promised further initiatives to improve their living conditions.
The interaction underscores the party’s outreach efforts ahead of the municipal elections, combining welfare initiatives with direct engagement with local communities.
The event at Swabhiman Apartments not only celebrated housing provision but also reinforced the connection between elected representatives and residents benefiting from government programmes.
