PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, reaffirming that Babasaheb’s principles and ideals continue to guide India’s mission to become a self-reliant and developed nation.
Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi Pays Homage To Baba Saheb
Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realising the dream of social justice today.”

The Prime Minister further emphasized that Ambedkar’s legacy would continue to empower India’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.
In a video message, PM Modi hailed Ambedkar as a ‘symbol of humanity’ who rejected all forms of inhumanity and injustice.
Prime Minister Modi noted that Ambedkar firmly believed in constitutional methods and upliftment through education.
“He taught society only one thing — become educated, and once you are educated, you will be able to talk to the world eye to eye,” the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi also highlighted Ambedkar’s guiding principles: education, organisation, and struggle for humanity. He said these mantras continue to inspire and empower the nation even today.
Ambedkar’s Legacy Anchored In Social Justice
Reflecting on Ambedkar’s enduring legacy, the Prime Minister described him as a leader driven by pure national and social devotion.
“Whether it is Dalits, the suffering, the exploited, the poor, tribals, village dwellers, slum residents, or those yearning for education — Babasaheb remains a timeless inspiration for all of us,” PM Modi stated.
Government Promotes ‘Panch Teerth’ To Honour Ambedkar
PM Modi highlighted his government’s efforts to honour Ambedkar’s legacy through the creation of ‘Panch Teerth’, here are five keys:
- Janam Bhoomi – Birthplace in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh
- Siksha Bhoomi – Resided in London during his studies
- Deeksha Bhoomi – Site in Nagpur where he embraced Buddhism
- Mahaparinirvan Sthal – Place of his death in Delhi
- Chaitya Bhoomi – Final resting place in Mumbai
He also mentioned the inauguration of the Dr Ambedkar International Centre at 15, Janpath in Delhi, which serves as a research and cultural hub to showcase Ambedkar’s contributions to India and the world.
“Our government has placed Baba Saheb’s contribution in front of the country and the world with great intensity,” PM Modi said. “These Panch Teerth will continue to inspire coming generations.”
