Allahabad High Court is set to hear a petition regarding Abdullah Azam Khan’s fake passport case. The case alleged of Khan has obtained a passport with a false date of birth. The High Court had previously sought the government’s response on Khan’s petition.
Khan, a lawmaker from Rampur, is accused of submitting wrong documents to obtain a passport. A case was registered against him in 2019 at Rampur’s Civil Lines police station under sections of fraud and the Passport Act. The complaint, filed by BJP leader Akash Saxena, alleged that Khan’s passport and educational certificate showed different dates of birth.

The trial court had rejected Khan’s application to submit certified copies of video clips and wedding cards as evidence. Khan challenged this decision in the High Court, which stayed the proceedings of the trial court. The case will now be heard by Justice Rajiv Mishra’s single bench.
Khan is accused of using the fake passport for financial gain during foreign business trips and as identification in various institutions. The hearing is expected to shed light on the allegations and Khan’s petition.
