On August 14, the Allahabad High Court will hear a significant case regarding the Thakur Banke Bihari Temple Corridor in Vrindavan, Mathura. This case involves eight petitions, including one filed by Anant Sharma and Thakur Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj. The focus of the hearing is on crowd management for Janmashtami in Mathura.
During the previous hearing, the court expressed concern about the large crowds expected for Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Specifically, the court questioned the government on its plan for managing these crowds in the absence of the Banke Bihari Corridor. The judges directed the government to present its crowd management plan in court.

Transitioning to recent developments, the court had previously asked for the government’s approach to handle the expected surge in visitors. Justices Siddharth Verma and Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra are currently presiding over this public interest litigation (PIL) and the related petitions. The outcome of today’s hearing could significantly impact the arrangements made for Janmashtami celebrations and crowd management strategies in Mathura.
