Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav stated on Monday that the Election Commission of India is the last ray of hope for curbing the BJP government’s exploitation of the ED, CBI, and IT departments from the front.
“E = ED; C = CBI; I = IT. The way ECI is constructed by merging the initial letters of ED, CBI, and IT department is a good indicator that the ‘Election Commission of India’ is a ray of light that can restrict the BJP government’s misuse of ED, CBI, and IT department from the start,” Yadav stated in a post on X.
E = ED
C = CBI
I = ITजिस तरह ED, CBI और IT विभाग के आगे के पहले अक्षरों को मिलाकर ECI बनता है वो दरअसल इस बात का सकारात्मक इशारा है कि ‘Election Commission of India’ ही उम्मीद की वो किरण है, जो भाजपा सरकार द्वारा ED, CBI और IT डिपार्टमेंट के दुरुपयोग पर आगे से लगाम लगा सकता…

“In the first electoral month of 2024, it is hoped that the ‘Election Commission’ would fulfill its constitutional obligation by not allowing unfettered and dishonest government machinery to operate and that it will continue to serve as a shield to defend democratic ideals,” he said.
He stated that only until democracy survives would the Election Commission’s dignity (‘garima’) and reputation (‘prathistha’) be preserved.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister congratulated the Election Commission on bravely conducting fair elections and allowing all parties an equal opportunity to fight the polls without prejudice or discrimination. “Impartial elections will be a victory of the Election Commission,” that’s what he declared.
Around 15.34 crore people are eligible to vote in Uttar Pradesh, a strategically important state with 80 Lok Sabha seats, where elections will be held in seven phases beginning April 19.
Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina (SC), Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit will cast their votes in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19.
