Mayawati
Mayawati, the supremo of the Bahujan Samaj Party, is poised to resume her Lok Sabha election campaign in western Uttar Pradesh with a rally here on April 14, following a seven-year hiatus to build up electoral support for the party.
From April 14 to April 23, Mayawati will host rallies to support BSP candidates in the seats of Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Rampur, Moradabad, Bijnor, Nagina, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Amroha, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Meerut, and Hapur. The BSP candidates won 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh in 2019, including Bijnor, Nagina, Saharanpur, and Amroha. The seats up for election in this year’s first round include a substantial number of Dalit and minority community voters.
Party members, who are busy preparing for ‘Behen ji’s’ events, feel the rallies will be historic, and the climate on the ground will shift after April 14. Behenji will conduct a rally at the Government Inter College here in favour of the party’s Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha candidate Dara Singh Prajapati and Bijnor candidate Vijender Singh Chaudhary, according to Satish Kumar Ravi, head of the BSP Muzaffarnagar unit.
He stated that local party workers will be joined by people from adjacent places such as Sardhana (Meerut), since massive audiences are expected during Maywati’s rallies. “Behenji would conduct a rally in Muzaffarnagar for the first time since 2017. All party members are excited about the upcoming preparations. He claimed it will be a historic rally,” he added.
Sushil Sharma, the party’s local functionary, stated that the people of Uttar Pradesh had witnessed the administration of governments headed by the BSP and the Samajwadi Party, as well as the BJP’s rule. The climate that the BJP has fostered will alter. For example, they have projected an image of excellent law and order, but the situation has deteriorated. The public is dissatisfied, according to Sharma.

“People were relieved under BSP administration. People observed hooliganism under the SP’s administration and voted for the BJP out of disgust with the SP. People are rushing from pillar to post under BJP leadership, the bureaucracy is out of control, and corruption has increased,” he stated.
