Acharya Pramod Krishnam Criticises Rahul Gandhi’s Leadership; Questions Opposition Strength

Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam criticised Rahul Gandhi and questioned his suitability as a national leader during a statement in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Acharya Krishnam argued that Rahul Gandhi should consider removing the ‘Gandhi’ surname, claiming that his actions do not reflect the values associated with Mahatma Gandhi. He stated that the public has not accepted Rahul Gandhi as a leader, carrying forward that legacy.

The former Congress leader asserted that even opposition parties recognise the difficulty of defeating the BJP under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.

According to him, several Congress leaders have lost confidence, and the party continues to weaken as leaders gradually drift away.

Krishnam further claimed that dissatisfaction within the opposition could eventually lead to Rahul Gandhi being removed from the position of Leader of the Opposition. He attributed this to what he described as ineffective leadership and unfulfilled political potential.

Drawing a comparison, Acharya Krishnam highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership, contrasting it with Rahul Gandhi’s approach. He criticised the conduct of the opposition leadership, suggesting it lacks seriousness in the face of a dominant ruling government.

The remarks underline ongoing tensions within opposition politics and reflect the challenges faced by the Congress party in consolidating its position.

Statements such as these continue to fuel debate over leadership, strategy, and unity within India’s opposition bloc.

Acharya Krishnam’s comments come at a time when political discourse remains sharply polarised.

As parties prepare for future electoral battles, questions surrounding leadership credibility and opposition cohesion are likely to remain central to the national conversation.
