Prime Minister Modi on Friday inaugurated ‘Seva Teerth’, the newly constructed complex that now accommodates the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat. The unveiling marks a decisive administrative shift at the heart of the Union government.
PM Modi formally opened the facility in the presence of senior Union Ministers and officials. Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, attended the ceremony.

Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar joined the event. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other senior dignitaries were also present.
The inauguration signals the formal relocation from the historic South Block premises to the new high-technology complex on Kartavya Path, formerly Rajpath.
The structure, however, stands approximately one kilometre from Raisina Hill. It places the highest executive offices within close operational distance, strengthening coordination.
PM Modi will later inaugurate the Kartavya Bhawan Complex 1 and 2. Several ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, and Education, will function from these premises.
The consolidation addresses longstanding fragmentation across the Central Vista.
For decades, ministries operated from ageing and dispersed buildings. This arrangement created procedural delays and coordination inefficiencies.
The newly inaugurated complexes resolve these constraints through integrated and digitally enabled infrastructure.
Officials confirm that the facilities incorporate fully networked office systems, structured public interaction zones and centralised reception services.
These measures, however, aim to improve administrative efficiency, inter-departmental synergy and citizen interface. They also prioritise staff welfare through contemporary workspace design.
The buildings comply with 4-Star GRIHA sustainability benchmarks.
Designers embedded renewable energy systems, water conservation mechanisms, waste management protocols and high-performance building envelopes.
These provisions minimise environmental impact and optimise operational performance.
Security remains paramount. The complexes feature smart access controls, advanced surveillance grids and modern emergency response systems.
Authorities intend to ensure a secure yet accessible environment for officials and visitors.
