A seven-year-old child died in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka after slipping into a boiling sambhar pot at her government school. The startling event happened on Thursday in the Afzalpur taluk’s Chinamagera village. Mahanthamma Shivappa Jamadar has been recognized as the deceased child. According to source, she unintentionally fell into a sambhar pot that was boiling hot as it was being taken out of the kitchen to be served for lunch.
The youngster, who was enrolled in the second standard, was taken to the Victoria hospital in Bengaluru for treatment, but the publication stated that she is believed to have passed away early on Sunday morning from severe burn injuries.

The tragedy happened as the girl was playing in the school hallway with her friend, who was following her. She was initially transported to the GIMS hospital in Kalaburagi, where she reportedly suffered 50% burn injuries from the event. On Saturday, she was moved to a private hospital and finally to Bengaluru.
Up to three officials, including the headmaster of the school Lalabi Nadaf, the headmaster in charge Raju Chavan, and the head cook Kasturbai Talakeri, have been suspended thus far in the case due to allegations of incompetence. The suspensions were implemented the day following the incident, following the block education officer’s referral to higher authorities.
