The occurrence and filling of vacancies, including backlog reserved vacancies, is a continuous process, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Singh stated that all central government ministries and departments have issued instructions to form in-house committees.

These panels identify backlog reserved vacancies, analysing the root causes behind them, and taking corrective measures to eliminate the factors responsible.

Ministries will likely fill these posts through special recruitment drives.

Singh, who is the Minister of State for Personnel, added that each ministry or department must designate a liaison officer of at least deputy secretary rank.

A special reservation cell must also set up under the direct supervision of this officer to ensure proper compliance with reservation-related directives.

The government’s measures aim to strengthen the implementation of reservation policies and ensure timely recruitment in positions meant for reserved categories.
