The Noida Police, acting on the directives of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, will take action against 18 accused involved in a scam of crores of rupees through the widely discussed Mahadev betting app. Following the Enforcement Directorate’s recommendation, the central government has imposed a ban on the Mahadev Satta app. The Noida Police had also written a letter to shut down the app.

Arrested accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

Several film stars are under the radar of various agencies due to this betting app. A case was registered at Thana 39 in Noida, and the arrested accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The police have filed a charge sheet in this case. Political implications are emerging, with the BJP targeting Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police has filed cases against 32 people, including the promoters of the Mahadev betting app.

Fraud of around 15,000 crores

According to a Mumbai Police officer, cases have been registered under sections 420 (cheating), 120-B (conspiracy), IT Act (cyber terrorism), and the Gambling Act at the 30th Kurla Court. The accused are alleged to have committed fraud of around 15,000 crores.

BJP leader alleged Bhupesh Baghel

The Enforcement Directorate claimed that forensic analysis and a statement from a cash courier revealed shocking details. The promoters of the Mahadev betting app have allegedly paid 508 crores to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The agency stated that investigations into the allegations are ongoing.

On November 5, the central government officially announced the blocking of 22 illegal betting platforms, including the Mahadev betting app and Readyannapropsto platforms, following the Enforcement Directorate’s request. This action was taken after ED raids against the Mahadev app and illegal betting syndicates in Chhattisgarh.
