15 schools in Bengaluru evacuated after receiving bomb threat by mail

Authorities have dispatched bomb squads to over 15 prestigious schools after receiving bomb threats through email. Yelahanka Police Division and schools in Basaveshwaranagara have received the threats.

When school employees checked their emails and saw the alarming message, the threat became apparent. The school premises were promptly subjected to thorough inspections by the bomb squads and city police.
Commissioner B Dayananda of the Bengaluru Police confirmed that bomb detection units have been deployed to carry out thorough inspections throughout the school premises.

“Police teams, as well as bomb disposal and detection units, have been mobilised to the respective locations,” the Commissioner of police announced. The police emphasise that there is no need for alarm and that they will thoroughly investigate these threats at the schools that they have been notified of.

In response to the threat, one of the affected schools quickly notified parents of the possible security risk and set up plans for their children to be safely returned home. Panicked parents hurried to the schools, where they hoped their kids would return safely. A holiday has been announced by the Sadashivanagar Neev School.

Police are currently looking into the origin of the bomb threats in the interim. In an effort to identify the suspects, they are also looking through CCTV footage from the schools. The authorities have urged anyone with information about the bomb threats to come forward.

Following up on the media reports, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited Sadashivnagar’s New Academy School to obtain more information. Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar reassured the public, saying there’s nothing to worry about and that he’s been briefed by the city police commissioner.

Bomb threats have been made against Bangalore schools on previous occasions. Thirty schools received similar email threats on the same day last year. Nevertheless, no one has been taken into custody in relation to these threats.
