A recent move by China in Indian ocean pushes the Navy to deploy its carrier force on the eastern seaboard.
Last Monday, in Kunming China held a virtual meeting of Indian Ocean Region countries and that has come into India’s notice. The Indian Navy now plans to lease a jetty north of Chennai for berthing one of the two aircraft carriers soon. That will help India to go for faster response in case of any military emergency.
INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier of India is going to resume fighter operations by the end of this year.
Now while the first Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya is going to resume sailing keeping fighter operations on which has followed the major refit by mid-December 2022, at a private port north of Chennai, the Navy is actively considering leasing a jetty to berth an aircraft carrier.
Going ahead with plans to deploy one of the two aircraft carriers, Indian Navy seems pensive on eastern seaboard.
French Defense Minister, today have come on board India’s newly commissioned aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. The Indian warship off the coast of Kochi is going ahead with the Modi government move which is towards finalizing the contract of twenty six maritime fighter jets. These fighter jets will be the indigenous aircraft carrier.
The French firm Dassault has manufactured the Rafale-M which is one of the contenders for the contract with Boeing manufactured F-18 fighters.
As per the recent reports, China seems to be pushing its Indian Ocean agenda by holding a virtual meeting of nineteen countries which also was attended by three organizations at Kunming on 21st of November last week.
The meeting in Yunnan province still is not sure about the level of participation. Significantly, Beijing has come up with China Industrial Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCO) aiming to rival the USAID ostensibly in order to develop Indian Ocean region littoral states.
