Nearly 50 per cent of Indians are actively planning for healthy ageing, and 71 per cent are using technology to stay active longer, according to a report released on Tuesday by Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
The survey was conducted in around 19 countries with 9350 respondents, highlighting that while only 12 per cent of people globally align their lifestyle with longevity.
India ranks first in prioritising longer and healthier lives.
Indians are increasingly turning to natural remedies, wearable health trackers, and AI-powered health agents, with 25 per cent already adopting AI-supported health tools and 32 per cent using wearables.
This places the country among the global leaders of digital health engagement.
71 per cent of respondents in India have surpassed the 55 per cent global average in at least one tech intervention.
Explaining why Indians stand out, Parul Bajaj, Managing Director and Partner at BCG, said that Indian consumers are among the fastest adopters of digital health solutions, with one in four already interacting with AI-powered health agents.
The report further noted that Indians, compared to global respondents, are less concerned with privacy, making them more open to digital-first engagement.
However, the challenge lies in affordability and accessibility, especially in lower-income groups.
