Refined sugar and even artificial sweeteners may be the most common thing we use so easily in our beverages, foods and desserts to give it that sweet and happy taste.

While the tongue rejoices in this happiness our entire body doesn’t feel the same way. It is a ‘devil of disease’ and is probably the worst thing that came out as a manufactured food product.

In ancient India and Indian food science there is no place for sugar. Oh! But there is oodles of place for sweet, healthy and power packed nutritious desserts. These desserts actually aid in the development of the body and will urge you to make it a part of your diet and ditch the artificial sweeteners and refined sugar right away.

Our very scientific ancestors understood the body and applied it into ancient Indian food science. It may now have become fashionable and a trend to be vegan, organic, sustainable and natural in all our consumption. But India was always using this as the main theme in its way of life.

Naturopathy was always vegan, plant based and free of anything that was manufactured. It is built on the notion that everything that the body needs is there in nature. Western science could use this wisdom and knowledge too. While modern science catches up with Indian scientific history, why don’t you bite into the sweet taste of these dessert recipes and of course thank us later.

The recipes are based on Neerja Roy Chowdhury’s work who has written many books on memory and food science.

These recipes use all aspects of natural methods of cooking and are free of any dairy or artificial. They are loaded with nuts and nutrition without comprising on taste.

Its just what your body and tongue both need.
