The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check has warned the public against a fraudulent mobile tower installation scam involving a fake No Objection Certificate (NOC) purportedly issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
According to the fact-checking unit, the fake document falsely promises to install a mobile tower at the recipient’s location and seeks an agreement fee of ₹2,500.
PIB clarified that the Department of Telecommunications has not issued any such certificate and advised people not to fall victim to the scam.

To support its clarification, PIB Fact Check shared the official Department of Telecommunications document related to such fraud awareness and urged citizens to verify suspicious claims before making any payments.
