A video circulating on social media, shared by a Facebook page named ‘Beautiful Coral’, allegedly shows Union Minister Piyush Goyal promoting an investment platform called ‘QuantumAI’.
In the clip, the minister appears to urge citizens to invest ₹21,000, promising a weekly return of ₹5,50,000.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) confirmed in a fact check that someone digitally altered the video.
Officials clarified that neither Union Minister Piyush Goyal nor the Government of India has endorsed or promoted this scheme in any manner.
“Fraudsters frequently manipulate videos and social media content to deceive people into investing in fake schemes,” PIB cautioned.
Such scams often aim to mislead citizens and steal money under the pretext of lucrative returns.
Advice for the Public
The PIB advised citizens to remain vigilant and cross-check investment claims with official government sources before acting on or sharing information online.
Financial experts also emphasise verifying the authenticity of such schemes and consulting trusted sources before making any monetary decisions.
Social media users are encouraged to report suspicious content immediately.
With digital platforms becoming increasingly influential, scams involving doctored videos and misleading advertisements are on the rise. Authorities continue to monitor and take strict action against individuals or groups attempting to exploit the public through fraudulent investment schemes.
By alerting citizens to these manipulations, the PIB aims to protect investors and maintain public trust in official communications. This format ensures clarity, warns the public, and positions the information as authoritative and timely.
