A sensational claim circulating on social media alleges that India will witness a change in its Prime Minister and a shift in power on the 21st of the month.
The claim appears prominently in the thumbnail of a YouTube video uploaded by a channel named ‘Decodenewss’, and has drawn attention for its dramatic assertion.
However, a verification by the Government of India’s official fact-checking unit, PIB Fact Check, has found the claim to be completely false.
In an official clarification, PIB Fact Check categorically denied any such development, stating that no change of Prime Minister or transfer of power, scheduled or taking place on the said date.
The agency cautioned citizens against falling for misleading and sensational content created with the intent to spread misinformation.
The government further urged the public to remain vigilant and verify any suspicious news related to the central government before believing or sharing it.
