Yash Says ‘Ramayana’ Can Unite Indian Cinema And Showcase India’s Heritage Worldwide

Actor Yash has emphasised the need for greater cooperation among India’s film industries to introduce the country’s history, traditions and cultural narratives to a worldwide audience.

He said the forthcoming epic ‘Ramayana’ represents a shared heritage that no single regional industry can bring to the screen alone.

Addressing the film’s trailer launch in Bengaluru, Yash said, “This Ramayana is in all our blood. So, when making this film, this is not a work that can happen from just any one film industry. The entire Indian film industry must come together.”

The actor said India must confidently tell its own stories and celebrate its historical and cultural identity rather than depend on others to present its past.

Yash’s wife, Radhika Pandit, joined him at the event. Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey and Rakul Preet Singh also attended, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Epic Film Scheduled for Global Release

Nitesh Tiwari has directed ‘Ramayana: Part One’, which Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios is producing in partnership with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The makers have scheduled the film’s worldwide cinema release for November 5, 2026.

Yash had earlier acknowledged Ranbir Kapoor’s commitment to playing Lord Rama, saying the actor had made ‘great sacrifices’ to prepare for the character.

The actors and Tiwari also discussed the project during a panel session at San Diego Comic-Con.

Yash spoke about the immense responsibility attached to portraying Lord Rama and said he believed audiences around the world would witness “a beautiful Rama”.

“I think that’s the most important thing I would like to add. Nobody in this world can come and say, ‘I have the virtue to play Lord Rama.’ That’s how we see it. Just the fact that he says, ‘I can’t do it,’ speaks volumes,” Yash said.
