Twinkle Khanna, who once showed her acting skills in Bollywood, is busy in the world of books these days. Twinkle likes both writing and reading books. Recently, Twinkle wrote a column, after which she came into discussion.
The actress said that Indians are allowed to marry dogs, trees, and many other living creatures in the name of customs and traditions, but they are not given the right to marry a person of the same sex. Homosexuals have been denied the right even to consider marrying people like them.
Twinkle Khanna had written in her article, ‘We live in a country where it seems acceptable to marry a tree or a dog, but not a person of the same sex. I still remember when a neighbor aunty told me that a girl in our building was Manglik and her father was getting her married to a Pomeranian (a dog breed).
The actress further wrote, ‘When I refused to believe him, he said, ‘Okay, bring your iPad.’ Then he showed me a news story in which it was written that a young girl in Jharkhand had married a stray dog named Sheru. Sweety Aunty told me, ‘So that the bad luck in her horoscope goes to the dog, and after that she will marry a man, then her husband will have a long life.’
Twinkle further writes, ‘If you have set out to buy a sofa, wouldn’t you go to the shop and find out which sofa is comfortable and good? But when it comes to that person, you are expected to just choose one without looking at the options. I think Deepika’s decision is very right. By doing this, many women can be saved from marrying dogs and frogs.
