Sunny Deol Begins Filming For 'Border 2' In Dehradun

Riding high on the monumental success of Jaat, veteran actor Sunny Deol has officially commenced shooting for his next big project, Border 2.

The team is currently filming the much-awaited sequel in the picturesque locales of Dehradun.

Amidst the rugged beauty of the Uttarakhand landscape, Deol shared a video on his Instagram stories, capturing a stunning sunset.

In the clip, he can be heard marvelling at the view, saying, “So…so…so… beautiful.” The video captioned, “Reached Border shooting wild weather and beautiful sunset in Dehradun.”

Star-Studded Cast Assembles

Joining Sunny in this high-octane sequel are Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh.

The film further promises a compelling blend of action, emotion, and patriotism, echoing the legacy of its 1997 predecessor.

Earlier this year, in February, the production team offered fans a glimpse behind the scenes.

A still shared on social media showed Sunny and Varun seated atop a military tank on the Jhansi set, flanked by producers Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, co-producer Shiv Chanana, Binoy Gandhi, and director Anurag Singh.

A Legacy Of Bravery And Sacrifice

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, co-produced by Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi, and helmed by director Anurag Singh, Border 2 further draws inspiration from the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan.

The conflict saw Pakistani troops infiltrating the Line of Control (LoC), prompting a massive Indian military counter-offensive that successfully reclaimed most of the intruded territory.

Mark The Date

Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Dutta’s JP Films present Border 2, and they plan to release it in cinemas on 23 January 2026.

With themes of courage and sacrifice at its core, the film further aims to honour India’s military legacy while delivering a gripping cinematic experience.
