Bhagyashree recalled a touching incident involving Genelia Deshmukh and Riteish Deshmukh during the trailer launch of Raja Shivaji. She described how Genelia ensured Riteish ate during an intense shooting schedule.
Bhagyashree said Riteish remained fully occupied with directing duties and missed his dinner while preparing scenes late at night.
Bhagyashree added that Genelia followed him across the set with a plate of food, urging him to take a few bites. She compared the moment to a nurturing gesture, reflecting deep affection and care.
The film marks a significant collaboration between the couple, who have earlier worked together in projects such as Tujhe Meri Kasam, Masti, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, and Mr Mummy.
In this venture, Riteish directs and portrays the titular character, while Genelia produces the project and essays the role of Saibai.
The film presents a cinematic interpretation of the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire.
The production features a strong ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte.
The project is backed by Mumbai Film Company in association with Jio Studios.
Cinematography is handled by Santosh Sivan, while editing is overseen by Urvashi Saxena. The musical score comes from the composer duo Ajay-Atul.
