Selena Gomez to put an end to singing?
Selena Gomez, an American singer, has implied that this may be her final album and that she may be retiring from singing. The reports stated that the 31-year-old said she would prefer to concentrate on her acting career.
She first rose to fame as a Disney Channel star before scoring multiple hits, including “Hands to Myself,” “Rare,” and “Bad Liar,” and making her debut as a pop artist. She made her television debut with Selena + Chef in 2020. The next year, she co-starred with Steve Martin and Martin Short in the comedy mystery Only Murders in the Building on Hulu, where she received critical acclaim for her starring role.
Selena wants to settle in…
The Rare Beauty founder revealed that she wishes to settle on a particular thing during an episode of the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. She said, “I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun. But I was doing my TV show (Wizards of Waverly Place) at the same time and I just found it really fun, so I just kept going.”
Still, the singer claimed that as she got older, she realized more and more how important it was for her to “find something to just settle on.” “I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” she stated. When Ms. Gomez was complimented on her musical skills by the podcast hosts and told she didn’t have to choose, she replied, “You’re right, but I’m going to want to chill because I’m tired.”
The accidental singing career of Selena Gomez
The Emmy-nominated performer also acknowledged that her musical career was accidental. Disney execs inquired whether she wanted to record an album after she finished the Wizards theme tune.
She discussed the detrimental effects of a heavy workload at a young age on her mental health in the same interview. The singer of “Good For You” had ongoing problems with her mental health in 2016, which forced her to decide painfully to put off her tour.
