What does he mean by powerful Bollywood people while uttering the words : ‘I was sitting at home after delivering hit movies, nobody came with films to me.’ Nevertheless what Vivek Oberoi tries to insinuate is a message clear to people who know him and the Bollywood too.
Twenty years ago Vivek Oberoi delivered a brilliant performance as a gangster in Company which followed his romantic flick -Saathiya. Obviously he was all set for a scintillating career with the beginning of the two hits, but Vivek’s career had more ups and downs than any other of his caliber. The actor’s award-winning acting flicks were followed by phases during which he had no work. Vivek braved rejections many a times and making a comeback.
Vivek Oberoi: ‘Where is meritocracy in Mumbai movies?’
Talking to media Vivek opens his heart while presenting his journey story, he says he was built purely on “meritocracy”, still there was a time when there was no work for him even after delivering as a hit actor, on screen as well as at the box office.

Vivek Oberoi: ‘No room for frivolous movies’
The Actor was last seen in Dharavi Bank. He says, he is prepared to every role that is offered, provided that should have an essence, without which he would not at all take it up.
‘Career offered me new platform’
Vivek Oberoi says, ”I actually don’t do films for money, since I believe, it’s pehle Saraswati uske baad mein Lakshmi. I always intend to do things consciously. With the success of Inside Edge, my career offered me a new platform, I’ve also been achieving a show or film each month, every week. During the five years from 2017 to 2022, I’ve only done Inside Edge 1,2 and 3, along with Dharavi Bank and now Indian Police Force with Rohit Shetty.”
