Mohit Chauhan, known for evergreen hits such as Pee Loon, Kun Faya Kun, Matargashti and Saiyaara, has returned with a new romantic single titled Heer.
The song, released by Tips Music, carries a nostalgic, old-school softness—a quality the singer says gives the track its emotional resonance without ever ‘trying too hard’.
The song brings together a powerful creative team, combining Chauhan’s expressive vocals with the soulful voice of Kavita Seth.
Composed by Raaj Aashoo and written by Seepi Jha, Heer aims to evoke the purity of love and the longing that accompanies a deep emotional connection.
Old-School Charm with Modern Sensibilities
Describing his experience, Mohit Chauhan said, “I have always been drawn to songs that tell a story, and Heer has a gentle, old-school charm that doesn’t try too hard. Raaj Aashoo has composed this track with such simplicity that it allows the emotion to take centre stage, and I think listeners will feel that ease when they hear it.”
His soft, narrative-driven delivery blends seamlessly with Kavita Seth’s emotive singing, creating a harmonious duet that captures the essence of heartfelt romance.
Kavita Seth expressed her delight at working on the track, noting how naturally the melody unfolded during the creative process.
“Every artist dreams of making soulful music, and Heer has given me that opportunity. The melody flows naturally, and the lyrics touch something deep within. Working alongside Mohit Chauhan has been incredible – our voices blend in a way that brings out the soul of this track.”
She added that Raaj Aashoo’s composition allowed both singers the freedom to express the song’s emotions authentically.
A Composer’s Dream Project
Composer Raaj Aashoo shared that crafting Heer was ‘a journey of emotions’.
He said, “I wanted to create a melody that felt both fresh and familiar, something that would resonate across generations. Having Mohit Chauhan and Kavita Seth lend their voices to my composition is a dream come true.”
Aashoo credited Seepi Jha’s lyrics for providing the foundation that shaped the track’s emotional landscape.
Kumar Taurani, Managing Director of Tips Music Ltd., highlighted the song’s timeless appeal.
“At Tips Music, we have always believed in the power of melody. Heer is a soulful love song that will stay with listeners long after it ends. Having stalwarts like Mohit Chauhan and Kavita Seth on the same track is truly special. Their voices bring a unique texture to Raaj Aashoo’s composition and Seepi’s beautifully penned lyrics.”
