The grand theatrical production ‘Janata Raja’, based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, will be staged at Suncity, Ghaziabad, from October 22 to 28.
Divya Prem Seva Mission, Haridwar, is organising the seven-day event, with Bharat Express News Network as the media partner.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the inauguration as chief guest. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, head of the Juna Akhara, will bless the ceremony.
RSS All India Contact Chief Ramlal Ji will attend as a distinguished guest.
Dr Ashish Gautam, president of Divya Prem Seva Mission, said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj visited Shri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Math in Ghaziabad after escaping the captivity of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in the 17th century.
He performed religious rituals there and resolved to establish Hindavi Swarajya. Dr Gautam said this historical association prompted the Mission to choose Ghaziabad for the production.
He stressed the importance of introducing Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals to young people and encouraging families to guide children through the teachings of Shivaji Maharaj, Mata Jijabai and Samarth Guru Ramdas.
Performances will begin daily at 4:30 PM and last approximately four hours. Around 250 artists will participate, bringing historical scenes to life with elephants, horses, camels, cannons, swords and other weapons.
Replicas of the Sinhagad, Pratapgad and Raigad forts will highlight Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s courage, leadership and military strategies.
The Mission aims to promote national consciousness and cultural pride through the production. It has previously staged ‘Janata Raja’ in Lucknow and Agra.
Daily Rudrabhishek rituals have been taking place at the venue’s Shiv Avtaran Mandapam since the first day of Navratri. The observances will continue until October 28.
Expected guests include Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, MP Anurag Thakur and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, alongside other political and religious figures.
Organisers expect around 15,000 visitors daily from Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
The Mission has contacted universities and colleges to encourage student participation. Preparations began in March 2026, with more than 300 meetings, seminars and conferences held across Delhi-NCR and Uttarakhand.
