Hindi Play ‘Chandni Raatein’ Staged In Russia; Bharat Express Joins As Media Partner

Bharat Express partnered as the media organisation for the staging of ‘Chandni Raatein’ in St Petersburg, where the Hindi production received an encouraging response and celebrated the longstanding cultural links between India and Russia.

The play brought together Indian storytelling and references to Russian traditions, including music and songs.

Audiences responded enthusiastically to these elements, prompting the cast to express gratitude for their appreciation and Bharat Express’s support.

A member of the cast said performing the story in St Petersburg held particular significance.

The artist explained that the narrative is closely associated with Russia and the city, making its presentation there feel like bringing the story’s journey full circle.

The warmth shown by spectators made the experience especially rewarding for the performers.

The performer explained that the production featured Russian songs and cultural references at various moments. These touches received a positive response and helped build a stronger connection between the stage and the audience.

The artist pointed to Russia’s longstanding affection for Indian cinema, music and traditions.

Stars such as Raj Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty have enjoyed lasting popularity among Russian audiences, reflecting the depth of this cultural relationship.

The reception for ‘Chandni Raatein’ further illustrated how artistic performances can sustain the friendship between the two countries.

The cast performed in Hindi, yet Russian spectators showed their appreciation through enthusiastic participation and applause.

The artist observed that creative expression can overcome linguistic differences and connect people from diverse backgrounds.

The performance demonstrated how theatre, music and cultural traditions can create common ground between artists and audiences who do not share the same language.

Bharat Express Supports Cultural Exchange

The artist acknowledged Bharat Express’s role in supporting the production and helping bring the performance to audiences in Russia.

The performer hoped that similar cultural initiatives would continue to introduce Indian artistic traditions to international audiences, encourage mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people relations between India and Russia.
