Imran Khan’s struggle with despair and failure is nothing short of inspirational. In August of this year, the actor, who has been MIA since 2015, made a social media comeback. Imran has recently been encouraging fans with his commitment, hard work, and, most importantly, honesty by releasing a ton of vintage photos from the sets of his movies. In a recent Instagram post, the actor discussed his appearance in detail. Imran said that he has “always been skinny” and is a “hyper-metabolic” person.

Imran Khan stated in his lengthy letter, “My body just burns up whatever I eat. Oh, oh, what an awful disease! In my late teens, the boys in my neighborhood began going to the gym and exercising. Their biceps began to enlarge, extending the sleeves of their t-shirts. In spite of wearing a size S, my sleeves were still roomy. Although I wasn’t required to be physically fit to play Jai Singh Rathore, I was convinced that I was too thin, which is why Jai spends the majority of Jaane Tu [Ya Jaane Na] donning two layers of clothing. I started going to the gym for my next movie, Kidnap, and I started my body-building quest.

Imran Khan continued by describing his desire for a “powerful, heroic physique” and how he has always felt “insecure” about his appearance. “Over the following few years, the shaping and upkeep of my body became a part of my lifestyle,” he stated. Even though I routinely worked out, I would still get comments like, “So… you’ll bulk up a bit before we start shooting, right?” and “You’re looking weak.” I would also get comments like “You look like a little boy, not a man” and “The heroine looks bigger than you.” I think I looked OK in retrospect, but at the time, I was uneasy. I desired a strong, heroic build. So I made an effort.

Imran Khan acknowledged that, in addition to eating healthfully, he used anabolic steroids and supplements to gain weight. Without proper nourishment, exercise is useless. Eat six meals per day, totaling 4,000 calories. All of the good foods—chicken breast, egg whites, sweet potatoes, oats, and flax seeds—are insufficient to give my biceps the muscular appearance of the heroes I saw on television. No, I had to use supplements like whey protein, creatine, leucine, glutamine, L-carnitine, and eventually anabolic steroids to achieve that. Horror and shock! We’re not supposed to say anything out loud since it may completely shatter the illusion, continued Imran.
