“Happiness Comes From Many Things Unconnected”: Tabu Embraces Single Life at 52

Tabu, recently marked her 52nd birthday, and it’s evident that she’s aging gracefully. She shared her thoughts on being single during an interview with media, emphasizing that happiness is not solely tied to one’s relationship status. She believes that one can confront aloneness independently, whereas being with the wrong partner can lead to more significant unhappiness than being alone.

Tabu has consistently been open about her views on relationships and marriage, considering the relationship between a man and a woman to be a complex matter. She explained how our perceptions of love evolve as we grow, gain independence, and accumulate life experiences. Tabu expressed that pursuing her career and exploring the world alone was essential for her personal growth. She firmly believes that an ideal relationship should nurture individual growth, emphasizing that relationships are meant to liberate rather than stifle. Her unique perspective doesn’t differentiate between men and women in a relationship; she believes the focus should be on the individuals involved rather than their gender.

In a 2017 interview with Mumbai Mirror, Tabu humorously attributed her single status to her long-time friend, Ajay Devgn. She revealed that their friendship of 25 years, stemming from her cousin Sameer Arya’s neighborhood, played a pivotal role in their connection. In their younger days, Sameer and Ajay used to play the protective role of spying on Tabu and even intimidating any boys who dared to approach her. Tabu jokingly suggested that it’s because of Ajay’s protective nature that she remains single, and she playfully hopes he feels remorse for his actions.
