Prayagraj: Third rail line worth Rs 2649 crore to be laid before Maha Kumbh

PRAYAGRAJ

Under the “Mission Raftaar Project” of Railways, third line being laid from Prayagraj Junction to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (PDDU)  formerly known as Mughalsarai Junction. The work of the abovesaid project will be completed before Mahakumbh 2025.

On the entire project Rs 2649 crore for  constructing 150 km long railway line. The work will be completed by December 2024. With the laying of this railway line, the speed of this route will also be increased to 160 km per hour.

The construction work of the third line was inspected  by NCR General Manager Satish Kumar and Prayagraj Division DRM Himanshu Badoni.They directed the concerned officials for ensuring that entire project should be compleated on time.

During window-trailing inspection he observed the track and its surrounding installations, signals, OHE, platforms. Also inspected the cleanliness of stations, quality of train ride at points and crossings, improvement in Track Geometry Index (TGI), condition of level crossing gates. After this he took information about the progress of the ongoing work between Vindhyachal and Mirjapur stations.

GM Satish Kumar said that this is part of a long-term strategy. During this, ADRM Naveen Prakash, Senior DOM Shri Krishna Shukla, Senior DCM Shashi Bhushan, Pradeep Kumar Pal were present.
