A 27-year-old man from New Jersey called Nicolas Malvagna was arrested and charged with assault after he threw his phone at singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha during a concert at venue Pier 17 in New York City. The singer was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
When the cell phone impacted the side of her skull, the singer collapsed to her knees and bowed over in anguish, according to the video shared by concertgoers on social media.
Taking to Twitter, Justin Theory tweeted, “Performer Bebe Rexha gets hit by a concertgoer when they chuck their phone on stage. Her mother has told the media that she received 3 stitches”.

She was later dragged out of the venue, her hands pushed to her face.
The New York Police Department later verified that a 27-year-old had been charged with assault. Police also stated that the woman was transferred to a nearby hospital by EMS in stable condition.
Rexha updated her Instagram with the words “I’m good”, beside a photo of her face with an obvious black eye and stitches.

Following the incident, fans expressed their outrage and disgust on social media.
“Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at @BebeRexha hopefully she is ok after that”, one user commented.
“We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re ok”, the second user commented.
