Amitabh Bachchan, the veteran actor, gave his daughter Shweta Bachchan his mansion, “Prateeksha”.Amitabh has unique memories of Prateeksha, his first Juhu residence, where he shared a home with his parents, Teji and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The actor also owns Janak and Dalsa houses in Mumbai.
The ownership transfer of the mansion, which is estimated to be worth Rs 50.63 crore, was finalized on November 8 through two distinct gift deeds, and stamp tax of Rs 50.65 lakh was paid.
During the early years of his career, Amitabh and his family resided in Prateeksha.
His father gave him the name Prateeksha, which has special value in the family’s past. “Babuji saw the house as we invited him and Maa ji to now live with us and named it.. Prateeksha.. it came from a line of one of his works,” the actor had said on his blog. We welcome everyone to this home, but we are not waiting for anyone. Swagat sabke liye yaha par, nahi kisi ke liye prateeksha.
“The children did get married just a few feet away from it.. and it stood guardian above them,” he continued. “The grandchildren and children grew up around it. Their birthdays and the celebrations of festivals all decorated this GulMohar beautiful tree, with its bright orange flowers that bloomed during the summer.”
