As a serious attempt towards the justice, Delhi is to challenge Supreme Court order which freed three rape-murder convicts.
Not looking a political stunt, the decision taken by the Delhi Government appears a grave quest for justice in case of the recent acquittal of three rape convicts.
India is well aware of the Chhawla Rape And Murder case. It is not over yet, now the three men who were accused of killing, raping and abducting the 19-year-old woman in the month of February ten years ago in 2012 in Delhi’s neighborhood, Chhawla. The girl was found dead three three days later with multiple injuries on her body.
Then the latest development in the Chhawla Rape Case came with a news telling the country that the Supreme Court had freed the three men who were not accused but the convict, last week.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government may be planning to winning people’s heart this way, nevertheless, the party’s pledge to challenge the Supreme Court’s order acquitting the 3 convicts of a 2012 gangrape and murder case.
This morning Delhi LG VK Saxena has approved the filing of a review petition. This is going to be one of the most popular review petition in the Supreme Court challenging the acquittal of the 3 people. This followed after the victim’s parents met the LG saying they were “broken” by the shocking judgment.
The parents of the victim had also out of fear, requested for police protection. And now Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General and Aishwarya Bhati, Additional Solicitor General are going to represent the Delhi government in the case.
Abduction, rape and murder of the 19-year-old girl came in February 2012 in Delhi just months before the Nirbhaya case. Three days later her body was found in a field in Haryana with multiple injuries on. The severe wounds found on here body suggests that she was hit with car tools along with some other earthen pots.
