On Tuesday, the civil aviation ministry requested that aerospace manufacturing companies produce a collaborative strategy outlining their requirements to develop their supply chain in India.
The discussions took place during the advisory group meeting of aerospace manufacturers and MROs.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia met with MRO representatives to discuss operational and taxation concerns.
According to an official announcement, the minister promised to reconsider some fiscal and regulatory concerns and to work together to improve the financial viability for MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) players.
“Scindia urged leaders of aerospace manufacturing majors to present a collaborative plan outlining their requirements from each department of the Government of India, to help them expand supply chains for aerospace manufacturing in India”, the statement reads.
Representatives from Airbus, Boeing, Safran, Max Aerospace, AIESL, Pratt & Whitney, and Air Works, among others, attended the meeting.
V.K. Singh, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Vumlunmang Vualnam, Civil Aviation Secretary, and other senior officials were also present.
