Markets Climb In Early Trade; Sensex Soars 514 Points

In Asian markets, Shanghai, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Tokyo, and Hong Kong were trading higher, while Malaysia and Taiwan were trading lower

Equity benchmark indices climbed in early trade on Friday, after declining for the past five days, boosted by a resurgence in Asian markets.

The 30-share BSE Sensex soared 514.42 points, or 0.69 percent to 74,400.02 in early trade. The NSE Nifty advanced 145.70 points, or 0.64 percent to 22,634.35.

Adani Total Gas, L&T, Bajaj Finance, Tata Power, Shriram Finance, Adani Energy Solut., DLF, Adani Power, Cholamandalm Invest, UltraTech Cement, Ambuja Cement, and GAIL (India) were the top gainers.

Among the laggards were Zomato, RECL, Power Finance Corp, Avenue Supermarts, IRCTC, Varun Beverages, Trent, and IRFC.

In Asian markets, Shanghai, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Tokyo, and Hong Kong were trading higher, while Malaysia and Taiwan were trading lower.

US markets concluded lower on Thursday.

Brent crude lost 0.34 percent to USD 81.58 per barrel.

According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 3,050.15 crore on Thursday.

On Thursday, the Sensex dipped 617.30 points or 0.83 percent to 73,885.60, while the Nifty sank 216.05 points or 0.95 percent to 22,488.65.
