Isha Ambani paid tribute to her mother, Nita Ambani, during the inaugural NMACC dinner held in Venice to mark the opening of the India Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.

Addressing artists, curators, and cultural figures from different countries, Isha Ambani spoke about Nita Ambani’s journey from being trained in classical Indian dance to later working in education and sports before establishing the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

Welcoming guests to the event, Isha Ambani said the vision behind NMACC has always been to present India’s artistic and cultural heritage on the global stage while also bringing international artistic excellence to India. She also praised the team involved in organising the India Pavilion and raised a toast to art, friendship, and continued cultural dialogue.

NMACC later shared clips from Isha Ambani’s speech on its Instagram account.

For the occasion, Nita Ambani appeared in an ivory and gold silk sari with woven detailing, accessorised with gemstone jewellery and a decorative gold handbag.

Isha Ambani attended the dinner in a wine-coloured satin ensemble inspired by the drape of a sari and designed with sculptural pleats and jewelled embellishments.

Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, Anant Ambani, Shloka Mehta, and Radhika Merchant, among others, attended the inauguration ceremony of the India Pavilion on Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the India Pavilion showcased the exhibition Geographies of Distance: Remembering Home, curated by Amin Jaffer in partnership with NMACC and Serendipity Arts.

The exhibition featured works by artists Alwar Balasubramaniam, Ranjani Shettar, Sumakshi Singh, Skarma Sonam Tashi, and Asim Waqif, exploring themes of memory, migration, identity, and belonging through contemporary art rooted in Indian traditions.
