Adani Agri Fresh Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, has announced plans to enter the stone fruit segment in Himachal Pradesh, beginning with cherry procurement in the upcoming season.

The company said the expansion will later include other stone fruits such as peaches and plums. The move aims to improve storage facilities, expand market access, and help farmers secure better prices for their produce.

According to the company, controlled atmosphere storage infrastructure at its six locations in Himachal Pradesh has been upgraded to support the storage and distribution of cherries.

AAFL has already established itself as one of the early organised players in apple procurement and storage in the state.

Speaking during the event ‘Fruit Horizon 2026: Globalising India’s Fruit Value Chain’, Business Head Manish Agarwal said the company’s new initiative builds on its long-standing experience in apple sourcing and farmer outreach.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research organised the conference along with the Uttar Pradesh State Transformation Commission and the Department of Horticulture.

Operating under the Farm-Pik brand since 2006, the company said it has procured more than three lakh metric tonnes of apples from over 17,000 farmers and made direct payments worth nearly Rs 1,500 crore.

AAFL currently has a cumulative storage capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes in Himachal Pradesh.

The company said its grading and sorting systems help create transparent pricing based on quality standards, reducing growers’ dependence on traditional mandis.

The company is also widening the reach of its Digital Mandi platform, which allows farmers to sell produce remotely without physically visiting procurement centres.

At present, AAFL procures nearly 4 per cent of Himachal Pradesh’s apple production and plans to further increase its outreach to growers across the state.
