Gautam Adani Visits Taranga Jain Temple With Priti Adani On Akshaya Tritiya

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, along with his wife Priti Adani, visited the Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan Shwetamber Jain Derasar in Gujarat’s Taranga hills on Sunday to offer prayers on Akshaya Tritiya.

The couple arrived early morning at the Dabhoda helipad in Mehsana district’s Kheralu taluka. Members of the Jain community received them before they proceeded to the hill temple. Devotees had gathered in large numbers, marking the significance of the day.

The temple, dedicated to Lord Ajitnath, the second Tirthankara in Jainism, dates back to the 12th century and is linked to Solanki ruler Kumarpal. It continues to be a prominent pilgrimage site for the Jain community.

Gautam Adani offered prayers inside the sanctum and spent time within the temple premises, also briefly visiting the canteen used by pilgrims.

During the visit, Adani met temple trustee Sachin Ashokbhai Shah to discuss initiatives aimed at improving facilities for visitors. The discussions focused on enhancing accessibility and amenities while preserving the temple’s architectural and spiritual heritage.

The Adani Group is also carrying out afforestation efforts in the Taranga hills and contributing to ecological restoration in the surrounding region.

Akshaya Tritiya holds special importance in Hindu and Jain traditions, symbolising prosperity, new beginnings and charitable acts.

In Jain belief, the day commemorates Rishabhanatha receiving his first alms after a prolonged fast, establishing the tradition of offering food to ascetics.

Earlier this month, on Hanuman Jayanti, Adani and his family offered prayers at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
