Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani emphasized the importance of thorough involvement and patience in infrastructure development. Speaking at a private event in New Delhi, he highlighted the challenges of building large-scale projects and the long-term nature of returns in this sector.
“Building infrastructure is the toughest job. If it was easy, everyone would have done it. It demands complete involvement and patience,” Adani stated. He further explained that developing ports, airports, and solar power projects requires significant time and unwavering dedication.

Adani Denies Allegations Of Favoritism
Addressing allegations of special treatment from BJP-led states, Adani clarified that his Group collaborates with over 25 states, including non-BJP-ruled Kerala. He cited the Rs 20,000-crore Vizhinjam Port project as an example of his Group’s impartial approach.
“We are open to working with anyone as long as politics is not involved. Infrastructure development is not possible without government support, irrespective of the party,” Adani asserted. He dismissed claims of preferential treatment, emphasizing the need for political neutrality in business.
Vision For Dharavi Redevelopment
Adani shared his ambitions for redeveloping Mumbai’s Dharavi, home to over one million people. He expressed his determination to complete the project, which has failed three times in the last 40 years.
“I want to create a legacy by providing dignity to Dharavi’s residents. At 62, I hope to make this dream a reality in the next 5-10 years,” he said.

Reflecting on his life, Adani spoke about his humble beginnings and how he overcame underconfidence. “I did not complete college or even my first year. Coming from a modest background, I often reflect on how I reached this position without wealth, education, or a family business,” he added.
He concluded by invoking a philosophical perspective, stating, “Life becomes simple when one accepts their mortality.”
