Equities Soar For 3rd Day On Strong Global Trends

In Asian markets, Tokyo, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong concluded in positive territory, while South Korea and Shanghai finished in negative territory

On Tuesday, equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed higher for the third session in a row, led by advances in telecom, technology, and consumer durable equities amid a strong trend in the global markets.

After surging almost 400 points, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 89.83 points or 0.12 percent higher at 73,738.45. During the day, it moved 411.27 points or 0.55 percent to 74,059.89.

The NSE Nifty finished 31.60 points or 0.14 percent higher at 22,368 after giving up most of its early gains. During the day, it increased 111.15 points or 0.49 percent to 22,447.55.

Grasim Industries, Bharti Airtel, Ambuja Cement, IRFC, Tata Motors-DVR, ICICI Prudential, DLF, SRF, and Bajaj Holdings were the top gainers.

Among the laggards were Sun Pharmaceutical, ABB India, Zomato, BPCL, IOCL, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Power Finance Corp.

In Asian markets, Tokyo, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong concluded in positive territory, while South Korea and Shanghai finished in negative territory.

European equities were trading higher.

US markets closed in positive territory on Monday.

Brent crude gained 0.41 percent to USD 87.33 per barrel.

According to the exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold securities worth Rs 2,915.23 crore on Monday.

On Monday, the Sensex soared 560.29 points or 0.77 percent to 73,648.62, while the Nifty advanced 189.40 points or 0.86 percent to 22,336.40.
