Elon Musk, Twitter owner has announced that the company would roll out higher priced subscription plans for users to have zero ads experience on the platform.
The billionaire tweeted, “Ads are too frequent on Twitter and too big. Taking steps to address both in coming weeks,” through his Twitter handle on Saturday. “Also, there will be a higher priced subscription that allows zero ads”, he added in his another tweet.

Twitter earns nearly 90 percent of its revenue from selling digital ads. Earlier, Musk had introduced subscription plans for the verified blue badge which was later revised by the billionaire. Recently, it relaxed a three year ban on political advertising in a continued policy shift.

Twitter Blue also has some additional features. They include a thread reader, priority ranking in discussion replies, a 60-minute video upload limit, theme customization option and the ability to edit tweets in addition to the blue verification badge.
Since Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter for $44 billion last year, he has brought changes to the company including new subscription plans for Twitter Blue.
Twitter owner announced that Twitter’s Basic blue tick will have half the number of advertisements and that it will offer a higher tier with no advertisements by 2023.
On Wednesday, Twitter Inc said it was offering an annual plan for its subscription service called Twitter Blue, which includes its sought-after “verified” badge, at a discount to its monthly price. Users can subscribe to the service for an annual price of $84, that is $7 per month. While the original cost per month is $8 to get the blue checkmark. “The discount would be available in countries including United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand and Australia”, Twitter added.
