Adani Power Limited has improved its ESG score to 66, up from 65 in FY26, in the latest assessment by NSE Sustainability.

The company remains in the ‘Aspiring’ category and continues to rank ahead of several major Indian thermal, mixed-fuel and integrated energy companies.

NSE Sustainability, a subsidiary of NSE Indices and part of the National Stock Exchange of India Group, is a SEBI-registered ESG Rating Provider. Its annual assessment covers 500 listed Indian companies and evaluates their environmental, social and governance performance.

Adani Power has adopted measures focused on emissions reduction, operational efficiency and resource conservation.

The company uses Ultra-Supercritical Units and continuous monitoring systems to manage emissions and its carbon footprint. It focuses on energy efficiency, water conservation and responsible waste management.

On the social front, Adani Power supports communities through education, healthcare and skill-development programmes. Its initiatives include scholarships, health camps and livelihood programmes aimed at promoting inclusive growth.

The company said it exceeds several regulatory requirements related to corporate governance.

Independent director representation on the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee remains above the prescribed requirements. The Risk Management Committee also exceeds the required threshold.

Adani Power has introduced ESG standards for suppliers and contractors to promote responsible practices across its value chain.

Adani Power recently scored 71/100 in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment and 4.3/5.0 in the FTSE Russell ESG rating.

For FY26, CareEdge ESG awarded the company 80/100, placing it in the ‘Leadership’ category and 35% above the industry median.
