On Monday, the Adani Group strongly denied the circulation of fraudulent press releases linked to the conglomerate’s operations in Kenya, asserting that it would pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading false information.
In an official statement, a spokesperson for the group revealed that certain individuals with malicious intent were disseminating fabricated press releases, including one titled ‘Adani Group Denounces Baseless Accusations and Threats’.
The spokesperson clarified that these documents falsely relate to the company’s alleged activities in Kenya.
“We categorically state that neither the Adani Group nor any of its companies or subsidiaries have issued any Press Releases related to Kenya,” the spokesperson asserted, calling the entire matter a deceitful fabrication.
The Adani Group expressed its condemnation of these actions, urging the public to completely disregard the false information.
“We will take legal action against anyone involved in spreading false narratives,” the company warned.
In the statement, the group also called on media outlets and influencers to thoroughly verify facts and sources before publishing stories related to the Adani Group.
This development follows the company’s rejection of recent allegations made by US based short-seller Hindenburg Research, which claimed that Swiss authorities had frozen Adani Group’s assets.
The conglomerate previously dismissed these claims, with the spokesperson reiterating, “We unequivocally reject and deny the baseless allegations presented. The Adani Group has no involvement in any Swiss court proceedings, nor have any of our company accounts been subject to sequestration by any authority.”
The Adani Group emphasized its commitment to transparency and compliance with all regulatory standards as it navigates these false accusations.
