Adani Enterprises Partners French Firm Dioxycle For Low-Carbon Chemical Manufacturing

Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), the Adani Group’s flagship company, on Friday announced a long-term partnership with French clean-technology firm Dioxycle.

The partnership will develop and expand low-carbon chemical manufacturing in India. It aims to accelerate sustainable industrial production by combining innovative technology with renewable energy.

The partnership will begin with a pilot facility at an Adani Group site to manufacture formic acid using captured carbon dioxide and renewable electricity.

After successfully validating the technology, both companies plan to scale it for commercial production across India.

Formic acid and its derivatives serve several industries, including textiles, agriculture and manufacturing.

The project seeks to demonstrate how captured carbon emissions can be transformed into high-value industrial products through clean energy-powered production.

The collaboration combines Dioxycle’s electrically powered chemical manufacturing technology with Adani Group’s renewable energy expertise. It also leverages the group’s infrastructure capabilities and project execution strength

Together, the partners aim to establish a sustainable, cost-efficient and globally competitive chemical manufacturing model.

Adani Group Director Jeet Adani said the project will establish India’s first formic acid production facility powered entirely by renewable electricity and captured carbon. He added that the partnership transforms carbon emissions into sustainable economic assets through strategic industrial collaboration.

Dioxycle Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Sarah Lamaison said India offers the ideal combination of renewable energy, manufacturing capacity and industrial ambition. She added that both companies intend to build a scalable model for low-carbon chemical production.

Beyond formic acid, the partners will explore manufacturing additional chemicals used in energy, materials, packaging and industrial sectors.

The initiative marks Adani Group’s entry into the chemicals business while strengthening India-Europe cooperation in clean technologies.

The company said the project also supports the Make in India initiative and Viksit Bharat 2047 by promoting technology-driven manufacturing and sustainable economic growth.
