Adani Electricity organised an extensive monsoon safety awareness drive across schools under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and in various slum areas throughout Mumbai.
The initiative aimed to educate residents about electrical safety precautions during the heavy monsoon rains, a critical period prone to power-related hazards.
In June, ahead of the monsoon onset, Adani Electricity enhanced its disaster management readiness to protect its 3.15 million customers from potential disruptions caused by flooding and storms.
The company activated its Central Disaster Control Centre (CDCC), a pivotal hub tasked with coordinating emergency response efforts and ensuring 24/7 communication and monitoring throughout the monsoon season.
To tackle emergencies efficiently, the company strategically stationed seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) across Mumbai’s power distribution network.
The teams carry comprehensive recovery and restoration plans that address monsoon-specific challenges swiftly and effectively.
Adani Electricity integrated 98 sophisticated water level sensors at critical flood-prone locations with its Advanced Distribution Management System.
This technology monitors rising water levels in real time and allows teams to take proactive measures to prevent electrical failures due to flooding.
The CDCC employs cutting-edge satellite and wireless communication tools, including walkie-talkies and remote devices, to maintain seamless coordination across internal departments and with external authorities.
This ensures rapid response and minimal power outage durations.
Pre-Monsoon Inspections & Infrastructure Preparedness
Prior to the monsoon, Adani Electricity conducted thorough inspections and maintenance across its network.
Equipment in low-lying and flood-prone areas was elevated to prevent water damage.
The company strategically positioned essential emergency resources such as diesel generators, dewatering pumps, and service vehicles to facilitate quick interventions when required.
Adani Electricity’s proactive approach highlights its commitment to customer safety and uninterrupted power supply during the challenging monsoon months.
By combining community education with robust disaster management infrastructure, the company aims to reduce monsoon-related electrical hazards and enhance Mumbai’s resilience.
Adani Electricity’s measures will effectively manage monsoon challenges, safeguard millions of residents, and support Mumbai’s infrastructure through one of its most demanding seasons.
